Fall 2023 - Spring 2024
Zeltzin MozoZeltzin Mozo is a child of two immigrant Mexican parents, born and raised in Harlem, NY. They are in their third year at Northeastern University in Boston, pursuing a History, Culture, and Law degree. Before Boston, she was studying Ethnic Studies at Mills College in California. They had the opportunity to work with Homies Empowerment in Oakland, which pushed them further down the road of community-based activism. While their time at Northeastern has given them more opportunities to pursue a career in Immigration Law, they wish to be able to combine them to make resources like education, the arts, and legal help more accessible. They also studied abroad in Merida, Yucatan, which exposed her to the injustices the citizens of Mexico face largely due to U.S. interventions, and she would like to return to her hometown in Guerrero, Mexico, to learn and assist in community-based work.
Zeltzin is also into painting, reading, fashion, and spending time with their three dogs! She loves to spend time with her community, whether that means sitting in silence together or going out to dance. Their favorite types of dancing are bachata and cumbia! And her favorite authors consist of Octavia Butler, Audre Lorde, and Gloria Anzaldúa |
